WOKHA: The monthly District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting was held on March 9, at DPO conference hall, Wokha, under the chairmanship of vice chairman DPDB, Wokha and Deputy Commissioner, Wezope Kenye.
The board after deliberation approved recast of scheme for LADP 2016-17 under 39 Sanis A/C.
President Wokha District Veteran Football Association apprised the members about the 8th edition of Nagaland Veteran Football Association tournament which has been scheduled to be held at Phek from April 3 to 8. In this connection the chairman requested all board members to extend possible help to enable them to take part in the forthcoming NVFA tournament.District Programme Officer, DAPCU presented the HIV/AIDS scenario of Wokha district.
The board also approved the shifting of Sub-Treasury Office from Baghty to Bhandari to higher authority for recommendation.
Power point presentation was also presented by Sericulture department highlighting the various departmental activities and programmes.

PUGHOBOTO: Pughoboto Sub-Division Planning & Development Board (SDPDB) meeting for the month of March was held with minister of Roads & Bridges and chairman of SDPDB, Vikheho Swu at Chisholomi Community Hall on March 9.
Addrewssing the meeting, the minister stressed the need to gear up PWD with joint efforts of public support in maintaining roads. He stated that Pughoboto is urgently in need of banking services to avoid the difficulties of withdrawing their salaries including old age pension. He reiterated to the people to change their mindset and give more co-operation towards the growth of economic development such as meat production, tree plantation etc. Adding that the government policy of “Act East policy “ through NE for the connectivity of Indian-Asian link consists of air, roads, digital etc is in the pipeline, he said that meetings have been held with departmental officers to take benefit from various flagship programmes.ADC Avelu Ruho appraised the house regarding restoration of traditional footpath near ADC residence, construction of footsteps at Veterinary Colony at Pughoboto and construction of community hall at Asukiqa and Ighanumi. The house also decided to forward the old age pension to be withdrawn from Pughoboto through CDPO Pughoboto.
Other agenda discussed included MGNREGA funds to be withdrawn from SBI Tseminyu, Zunheboto NST Bus services to ply via Pughoboto, NST Bus services from Kilomi to Dimapur, posting of linemen at Pughoboto and others.
