Wokha, June 7 (EMN): Wokha District Cricket Association (WDCA) on Tuesday met the Deputy Commissioner at his residence before they embarked on their journey to participate in the Nagaland Senior Men's Inter-District Cricket tournament.
The team will play their first match against Mokokchung district cricket team on June 12. During the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Orenthung Lotha exhorted the team to perform their best. He stated that Wokha was one among the pioneers in the field of cricket in Nagaland as it has its own cricket tournament, which has crossed 25 years and is recognised by everyone.
He wished them to vigorously strive in bringing a laudable record while informing them to be disciplined so that they are elevated to represent and play in the state-level or in a higher platform in the cricket arena.
He wished the team to be an example for the young cricket enthusiasts, while reminding that the sport is a lucrative lifestyle which everyone admires.
The team was accompanied by the Wokha District Cricket Association President Khamongo Humtsoe, team manager and team coach along with the members of WDCA.
