Dimapur, Feb. 5 (EMN): Office of the chief medical officer (CMO), Wokha, conducted a district-level Kayakalp orientation programme in its conference hall on February 5.
Delivering a keynote address, CMO Wokha Dr. CW Tungoe mentioned that Kayakalp was instituted few years back in the country by the ministry of Health and Family Welfare to improve services in the healthcare sector. He encouraged the medical officers and community health officers to maintain high standard of hygiene and sanitation practices at health facilities in order to provide good services to patients.
He added that most of the health and wellness centres in the district are doing exceptionally well and are actively participating in patient’s welfare, an update from the CMO’s office stated.
The resource person and DPM (Q), Wokha, Dr. Thungchabeni Pattton gave a brief introduction of Kayakalp, which is a quality assurance programme. She took sessions on hospital upkeep, sanitation and hygiene, waste management and hospital support services.
It added that a total of 23 medical officers and community health officers participated in the one-day training programme.
