Wokha citizens hold meet with power dept officials

Dimapur, June 19 (EMN): Concern citizens of Wokha district met on June 17 at Hotel Hornbill to discuss on the irregularity of power supply to the district even after receiving power from Doyang Hydro with 132 KV recently. “Lotha News and Update,” a WhatsApp group has initiated the discussion. Orenvungo S Ovung, SDO (E) Wokha, along with Zama Ezung, JE (Power House, Wokha, who attended the discussion representing the department, presented the department’s difficulties in terms of technical, maintenance and equipment in the district. However, it was informed that the department is trying its best to avoid fluctuation of power and also provide the best possible service. The department officials informed that most transformers in the district are old and in need of replacement. The house also discussed on the problem of street lights where every household were charged Rs10 per month. To conserve power, the house further decided to sensitise the public on judicious of power in the district.
