Funeral service held for Wokha Town Council Chairperson Khozamo Murry; MLA Humtsoe and DC Wokha pay tribute to the late leader.

DIMAPUR/WOKHA — A funeral service for the late Khozamo Murry, chairperson of the Wokha Town Council (WTC), was held at the Public Ground, Wokha, on Wednesday.
Murry passed away on the evening of December 16 at the Christian Institute of Health Sciences and Research, Chümoukedima, following a brief illness. He was 66.
The service was attended by MLA Y Mhonbemo Humtsoe, Deputy Commissioner Vineet Kumar, the Superintendent of Police Wokha, members of WTC, representatives of the Wokha District Chamber of Commerce and Industry, NPF party members, and others.
As a mark of respect, all business establishments in Wokha town remained closed from 10 am to 3 pm during the district mourning ceremony.
Speaking at the service, MLA Humtsoe described late Murry as a "guardian of Wokha town" and a selfless leader who worked tirelessly for the community. He urged the congregation to cherish life, forgive one another, and renew their faith in God.
Deputy Commissioner Vineet Kumar conveyed condolences on behalf of his office, describing Murry as a leader committed to the development of the town council.
The mortal remains were later laid to rest at the Wokha Village Baptist Church cemetery.
Late Khozamo Murry was elected from Ward No. 8 on the NDPP ticket. He is survived by his wife and seven children.
Y Patton, NPF mourn
Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton and the Naga People's Front (NPF) have expressed grief over the demise of Murry.
In a condolence message, Patton expressed sadness at the passing of Murry. He said that the news of his demise had deeply saddened all who had the privilege of working with him and the many people whose lives he touched through his public service.
Patton and his family extended their heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, members of the Wokha Town Council, and the people of Wokha town. He prayed that the departed soul might rest in peace and that the family might find strength and comfort in the memories of his life and service.
The Naga People's Front (NPF) expressed deep sadness and shock at the sudden demise of Murry.
In a condolence message, the party stated that his passing had left a void not only in the Wokha Town Council but also in the party, and his leadership and contributions would be deeply missed.
The NPF conveyed its deepest condolences to the bereaved family and prayed that the Almighty God grant solace and comfort to the loved ones.
