Dimapur, July 18 (EMN): The District Angler Wokha Nagaland (DAWN) on Tuesday became the third district branch of the Anglers’ Association of Nagaland (AAN) – after Mookokchung and Dimapur. DAWN was launched at Tsumang Lake, Wokha by Mhabemo Yanthan, secretary Fisheries and team leader Honey Mission.
He lauded the AAN for spreading the knowledge of conserving and preserving aquatic life in the state. Yanthan advised DAWN to preserve the three major water bodies of Wokha town by planting more trees at Mt Tiyi.
AAN president highlighted the objectives of AAN ‘to create a recreational sporting event in the state and to promote eco-tourism in Nagaland though the sport of angling’. The programme was attended by Eloe Hoho, Lotha Students’ Union, other civil groups and angling enthusiasts.
