Ao Senden Federal Council has directed him to resign from Naga Hoho post
DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 16: Uncertainty continues to surround the fate of the incumbent Naga Hoho president, P Chuba Ozukum in the aftermath of the Ao Senden Federal Council’s recent directive to the former to relinquish his position at the Naga Hoho.
The Ao Senden has earlier this year dissociated from the Naga Hoho, and thus, has also asked its representative, Ozukum to resign. The Ao Senden Federal Council, with its newly elected interim officials, renewed the call for Ozukum’s resignation on Monday last.
Ozukum told Eastern Mirror that he received a letter containing the directive to resign from the Naga Hoho from the Ao Senden today. He, however, refused to comment on it. “I will come up with a statement when the time is right,” he said when this newspaper contacted him for confirmation. As reported earlier, all the officials of the Ao Senden had submitted their resignations few days ago. On November 14 last, the Federal Council accepted the resignations and chose C Angang Jamir as interim president and L Tally Jamir as interim general secretary.
The newly elected interim general secretary, L Tally Jamir said that the Ao Senden would remain dissociated from the Naga Hoho as long as the latter does not recall its letter that has been alleged to have endorsed the state government’s attempt to accord indigenous tribe of Nagaland status to the Rongmeis.
