Dimapur, March 12 (EMN): A two-day training on wildlife law enforcement for the field personnel of state forest department concluded on March 12. The training was organised by the wildlife crime control bureau, government of India organisation, and wildlife conservation society, a Bengaluru based NGO, in collaboration with the state forest department.
State chief wildlife warden, Satya Prakash Tripathi, stated that a total of 31 field officers of the forest department participated in the interactive and hands-on training programme. He added that the participants were given training on application of various provisions of the wildlife (protection) act in combating wildlife crimes.
Besides, the trainees were given mock tests for search, seizure, report writing and filing complaint in the court of law. The trainees were further given exposure on the ways to identify important wildlife in the illegal trade, their products and differentiating fake wildlife products from the genuine ones.
The resource persons were Agni Mitra, regional deputy director of wildlife crime control bureau; Mridula Vijayaraghavan; and Sahila Kudalkar of wildlife conservation society, Bengaluru.
Meanwhile, state PCCF & HoFF, Satya Prakash Tripathi congratulated all the trainees for their active participation in the training programme and exhorted them to apply their learning in the field situations on regular basis.
