Kohima, August 22 (EMN): The hearing on Naga People’s Front (NPF) whip issue filed by the party president Dr. Shürhozelie Liezietsu in the Gauhati High Court Kohima Bench could not be heard today as listed, as an interlocutory application has been admitted.
Sources told Eastern Mirror that the NLA Speaker, who is one of the respondents, has filed an interlocutory application objecting the maintainability of Liezietsu’s petition. Accordingly, the court is said to have granted four weeks’ time to the respondents and the matter will be listed and heard after September 21 with an endeavour to dispose off the case.
Earlier on July 31, the counsels for the respondents had sought three weeks’ time for filing of counter affidavits and subsequently, the court had allowed the time.
