Nagarjan ROAD has become so important that almost all the vehicles including trucks/buses to and from Kohima are passing through this road as it is much shorter route to catch the main town than the main highway i.e.,via Purana Bazar and so this Nagarjan route has virtually become an alternative highway. But it has become such a notorious condition that no autorickshaws from markets are willing to ply on this road due to its pathetical and deplorable condition. It has become so horrible that it is not road worth the name as by travelling on this road you feel you are moving on the river bed; it is even worse than that also. Some body overheard forewarning to the commutters especially to those pregnant women “ito rastate naperapote bacha kiraitibo”. He is not wrong in saying so. Even the teeth-gnashing-motorists are cursing the authority concerned as they pass through the dilapitaded road denoting “BAD ROAD BAD GOVERNANCE” as road is the mirror of the government. This does’nt need further elucidation.
One can notice a few trips of boulders lying on the road side just to indicate that the road is going to be repaired sooner than later but it remains undone ever since. It is also given to understand that the road repairing work has already been given to some contractor but the work could not be taken up due to some disputes hence the delay. Sorry! don’t delay it further at the cost of general public interest. Expedite it whatever the reason is and take up the work so that it can be completed before the forthcoming Hornbill Festival or at least before the Christmas festival. This is sheerly given considering the interest of general public and irrespective of who is who but as a bonafide law abiding citizen of the land.
