Western Sumi Youth Front seeks a swift and impartial investigation into the death of Shiwoto Yeptho, whose body was found along a railway track in Dimapur.
DIMAPUR — The Western Sumi Youth Front (WSYF) has expressed concern over the death of Shiwoto Yeptho of Luhezhe village under Niuland district, whose body was reportedly found along a railway track in Dimapur on August 29.
According to the WSYF, family members informed that a white SUV had arrived at Shiwoto’s residence on the night of August 28 and taken him away at around 11 pm.
The organisation stated that his clothes had reportedly been removed and his personal belongings were missing when his body was found. While cautioning against drawing conclusions before the facts are established, the WSYF said the circumstances raised serious questions and that the possibility of foul play could neither be ruled out nor presumed without a proper investigation.
The WSYF urged law enforcement agencies to conduct a swift, impartial and comprehensive investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death.

It called for examination of all available leads, including Shiwoto’s departure from his residence, the identity and movements of the vehicle reportedly involved, the location where his body was found, his missing belongings, and the actual cause and manner of death.
The front condemned violence and stated that if the investigation establishes foul play or a deliberate criminal act, those responsible should be identified and prosecuted in accordance with law.
The WSYF further appealed to the authorities to leave no stone unturned in establishing the truth and ensuring that the bereaved family receives answers.
