Dimapur, June 9 (EMN): The Western Sümi Totimi Hoho (WSTH) observed its foundation day on June 7 at Don Bosco Institute of Development and Leadership (DBIDL) with its first president and advisor, Hukheli Wotsa, and former general secretary of the Western Sumi Hoho (WSH), HK Zhimomi, as the speaker.
Hukheli Wotsa recounted how the first WSTH team struggled without any fund in hand but worked with diligence for the welfare of the society. She thanked the then WSH president, Ghosuho Zhimomi, and the general secretary, HK Zhimomi, for acknowledging the important role of women and extending their unconditional support.

She encouraged the present WSTH members to work with determination and not to feel discouraged in times of difficulties.
HK Zhimomi stressed on gender equality. “Most people tend to think that men are above women but when we talk practically there are some works which men cannot do but can be done by women alone,” remarked Zhimomi adding they both have their own importance in the society.
The speaker exhorted the women earn respect in the society through their achievements. He lamented that various organisations are embroiled in corrupt practices instead of talking about development.
Former WSTH member Khevili Aye said the invocation and Jolly Zhimomi, president WSTH, delivered the welcome address. The programme was chaired by Tokhuli, WSTH organising secretary.
