DIMAPUR — The Western Sumi Hoho (WSH)
executives, along with the Sub-Divisional Officer (Road and Bridges) Dimapur
Division, EAC Aghunaqa, and contractor N Chisho Swu & Sons, inspected the
ongoing works on the Foothill Road, stretching from Niuland town via Hovukhu
village in Niuland district to the Ralan area in Wokha district on Monday.
According to an update, during the inspection, the WSH
expressed satisfaction at witnessing the good quality workmanship at the
construction site and observed that the construction is being carried out in
accordance with the government's specifications in the detailed project report.
Stating that the Foothill Road has been a long-cherished
dream of the Western Sumis in particular and the Nagas in general, the hoho
said that once completed, the road will serve as a lifeline to the people of
Nagaland in numerous ways and will automatically boost the socio-economic
activities of the people to the highest extent.
The WSH expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio
and Minister for PWD (R&B), G Kaito Aye, and appealed to all sections of
the people not to hinder or disturb the workers and contractors involved in the
ongoing construction of the Foothill Road.
The WSH also appealed to the contractors not to compromise
on providing quality workmanship for this historic road and to complete the
project within the stipulated time.
