Western Dzükou fire fully extinguished as authorities call off operations after surveys confirm no remaining fire hazards.

KOHIMA — The western Dzükou fire has been completely extinguished and all firefighting and monitoring operations have been officially called off, Deputy Commissioner of Kohima Henok B Buchem informed on Tuesday.
Providing an update, the deputy commissioner said that teams from Khonoma Youth Organisation (KYO) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) conducted a spot survey and verification at the affected site on Tuesday.
“Both parties have reported that the fire has been fully extinguished and there are no signs of any further fire hazards,” he said.

Accordingly, a decision has been taken to suspend all operations with immediate effect.
He also informed that the Indian Air Force has demobilised its mission.
