
DIMAPUR — The Women Entrepreneurs Network Nagaland (WENN) has decided to hold its 3rd edition of annual bazaar at CT Square in Chümoukedima town from October 11 to the 13th on the theme “Year of business governance.”
This was announced by the chairperson of WENN, Alemjungla Jamir, during a press conference held at Naga Bowl Express in Dimapur on Saturday. Jamir informed that WENN is a non-profit organisation where like-minded women entrepreneurs came together to form the organisation to support the women entrepreneurs of Nagaland.
She mentioned that the organisation was conceptualised in 2022 and officially registered in 2023. It envisioned to build a strong network among entrepreneurs, foster collaboration with various stakeholders both within Nagaland and from other states and to empower women entrepreneurs by providing training, sharing information and influencing the entrepreneurial ecosystem to create a supportive environment for women entrepreneurs.
Jamir shared that organising the WENN Bazaar for the past two years has been a valuable experience, working closely with women entrepreneurs and government departments. She added that it has been a very positive experience for all of them.
The executive secretary of WENN, Nengneithem Hengna, informed that the upcoming 3rd edition of WENN Bazaar is not just a marketplace for selling products but also a learning platform where entrepreneurs, aspiring entrepreneurs and participants would gain knowledge from each other through various workshops designed for their growth.
Hengna stated that the main objectives of the WENN Bazaar is to create a sustainable networking environment for women entrepreneurs while achieving social, community and economic outcomes. She added that the event aims to empower women entrepreneurs, promote financial literacy, facilitate knowledge exchange, strengthen business networks in the state and showcase local talents.
She mentioned that women-owned businesses with at least 51% ownership, as well as any women-led business registered in Nagaland, are eligible to register with WENN.
The financial head of WENN, Kewengule Therie, informed that organisation has a total membership of around 800 members across the state.
She shared that last year, WENN Bazaar hosted 47 women entrepreneurs along with six financial institutions and generated nearly INR 20 lakh in revenue. Therie informed that over 80 women entrepreneurs would be participating in the upcoming three-day event.
She further informed that besides the stalls, there would be entertainment section for children.
The organisation informed that it would charge registration fee of INR 5000 to take part in the WENN Bazaar.
