Former NPF youth wing leaders say they left the sinking ship in time
Dimapur, Nov. 22 (EMN): The 12 Naga People’s Front (NPF) central youth wing office bearers, who recently joined the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP), have stated that they resigned from the party on their own volition with clear conscience as they lost their trust in the collective leadership of NPF.
The former NPF youth wing leaders stated this in a press release on Friday to clarify their stand and the misconception in regard to their resignation and subsequent merger with the NDPP party after the current leaders of the wing accused them of resorting to “political adventure” and placing their personal interest above their responsibilities in the party.

We endure so many hardship and humiliation though we were dragged like chained puppies, however, our endurance and perseverance had been completely ignored by the party’s higher hierarch,” read the statement from the 12 former NPF youth wing leaders.
‘Time and again, we the youth wing, as the soldier of the party had made so many suggestions to revamp and re-strengthened the party, so that the broken home of the NPF party can be rebuilt and stand firm and tall, however, all these well meaning suggestions were ignored in total contrast to our good intension,’ it added; for which they were said to be sidelined by the party’s higher-ups.
The defected members went on to state that “NPF party men and women have become like a sheep without shepherd because of the differences and heavy politicking within the NPF family” yet the leaders didn’t care “to keep the party folk intact.”
“We are all well aware that the NPF party have made so many journeys, both smooth and rough, and the party have been badly battered and is heading towards total breakdown because of at the helm of affairs. Therefore, we felt that it is high time our party goes through a major repairing and salvage the party.
“However, in spite of all these crisis, the people at the helms of affairs seems to have loss directions and become visionless. They want to steer the party in own interest and directions, thereby the party has come to a complete stand still in the course of its journey and is about to sink,” they stated.
They went on to say that their resignation from NPF is ‘neither a political adventurism nor to pursue our own interest’ but to save themselves from been drown while adding that they were fortunate to “leave the sinking ship in time”.
“It is also well known fact, that the NPF party under the leadership of Neiphiu Rio had been tasted by all the party men and women. As such, with the belief that we would once again his able leadership and allow us to complete our political voyage smoothly, we decided to join the NDPP led by dynamic leadership President Shri. Chingwang Konyak,” concluded the statement.
