Dimapur, July 24 (EMN): The Nagaland government has clarified that the term “underground organisations” used in the office memorandum, dated July 7, was “as conveyed by the Raj Bhavan”.

In a clarification issued through the DIPR on Friday, it informed that the state government had used the term “Naga political organisations” in its press release dated July 22.

It reiterated that the office memorandum relating to furnishing of self-declaration form by state government employees with respect to family members and relatives in “underground organisations” was issued on the direction of the governor.

“As stated in the state government’s clarification dated July 22, the letter of this direction was sent to the chief secretary from the commissioner and secretary to governor on February 14, 2020, asking for the information to be furnished by April 2. A reminder letter was received from the governor’s office on June 24, requesting to furnish the information urgently for the perusal of the governor,” it stated.
