DIMAPUR — The Wokha District Legal Service Authority (WDLSA) on Tuesday organised a walkathon to eradicate social evil such as drug abuse and addiction, child abuse and gender-based violence from the office of the deputy commissioner to the district court in Wokha town.
The additional deputy commissioner (ADC) of Wokha, Renbomo Ezung, flagged off the walkathon and spoke about the legal awareness of certain rights and duties of citizens, a DIPR report stated.
In her keynote address, the district and session Judge of WDLSA, Nino Iralu, highlighted the impact of drug abuse in the society. She also emphasised the importance and responsibilities of citizens, civil societies and the judiciary working together to eradicate social problems in the district.
The DPO of Mission Shakti, N Ekonthung Kikon, delivered a short speech on various problems in the society including human trafficking, cybercrime and equitable gender roles.
The program was attended by stakeholders from various departments.
