WCYO to organise first ethnic community tug of war

DIMAPUR — The Western Chakhesang Youth Organisation (WCYO), in collaboration with the Nagaland Tug of War Association, will be organising the first ethnic community tug of war (Nagaland open) on the theme ‘Oneness on rope for peace,’ on January 13, 2024, at DDSC Stadium, Dimapur. 

The WCYO in an update informed that each team will consists of eight players with two substitutes and a coach-cum-manager.  The tournament will be “free weight and free style” and the champions will receive cash prize of INR 1 lakh.

So far, 16 Naga tribes and 18 non-Naga communities have confirmed their participation. Special invitation will also be extended to security forces including DGP, IGAR, CRPF and BSF, it stated.
