- DIMAPUR — The MB
Neokpao-led Working Committee of Naga National Political Groups (WC-NNPG) has
accused the rival N Kitovi Zhimomi-led committee of desperately clinging to
self-acclaimed positions and attempting to mislead Nagas with “fabricated
lies”.
- In a press release, the Neokpao-led WC-NNPG said that all
relevant documents related to official proceedings of Kitovi’s removal from the
position of WC convener have been released for public consumption to “put all
the lies and deception being concocted by N Kitovi and his cannon fodders to
rest, once and for all.”
- “Despite his impeachment from the Ato Kilonser of GPRN/NSCN
(U) by an overwhelming 99% of the workers and consequent recall from the WC by
his own organisation, the leaders of the WC made sincere efforts for the last
nine months to accommodate him with an honourable position in the WC, yet his
egomaniacal character took precedence over reason, and without an iota of
self-esteem, insisted on continuing as the convener,” it stated.
- The committee also maintained that Kitovi, as an elderly
man, was expected to demonstrate grace and humility.
- On the contrary, it stated that he had started exhibiting
all the characteristics typical of “an eccentric, egoistic, greedy and
degenerate individual resorting to highly self-debasing rhetoric, attacking
individuals with unfounded and malignant lies, which completely negates his
assertion as a Naga leader.”
- It also alleged that in the course of a long association
with Kitovi, many genuine patriots and Naga leaders were victimised by him
through “habitual traits of blackmail and manipulation.”
- “Not only in the GPRN/NSCN, but his greed, corruption and
misuse of the NNPG banner for his personal financial gains exceeded all ethical
and moral limits during the last seven years of W/C's convenership.
- “His tenure as the convener is replete with dubious
financial deals and cheap blackmailing tactics, causing deep hurt and mistrust
among the W/C leaders and affiliates,” the committee alleged.
- It went on to claim that all his “contemptible and
derogatory conduct” was painfully and patiently endured, solely keeping in mind
the popular people's longing for an early solution.
- “Kitovi must understand that the Agreed Position or the Naga
political solution does not belong to him personally. The Agreed Position was
signed with the support and endorsement of every Naga stakeholder, and the
WC-NNPG or any other Naga political group only represents the political will of
the Naga people and in no manner should be misused to self-serve in the same
way N Kitovi does,” the statement read.
- Further, the WC-NNPG said it is regrettable that Kitovi is
trying to find fault with the WC leaders’ commitment to defend the ancestral
territories of the Nagas across artificial boundaries when he himself is a
party to the Agreed Position that has outlined in detail the political
arrangements for all the Naga-inhabited areas, both in India and also in
Myanmar-occupied Naga territories.
- “It must be recorded that N Kitovi, in his exclusive and
selfish manipulation of the Naga issue solely to serve his own interest, is the
crux of the present crisis and from which the WC-NNPG is extricating itself,”
the release stated.
