DIMAPUR — The Working Committee of the Naga National Political Groups (WC-NNPG) has condemned the recent abduction and killing of six Naga individuals in Manipur, allegedly by Kuki militants.
According to a joint statement issued on Monday by WC-NNPG convenor Gen. (Retd.) Neokpao Konyak and working conveners Col. Isak Sumi and P Tikhak, the committee said it was aghast to learn that the six Naga lives were "defiled to the extent that no normal human being could ever conceive."
"Beyond every moral and ethical standard, the six Naga lives were made a spectacle of extreme inhumanity. The history shall always remember this sad event to evoke the limitlessness of human conflict," it stated.
The WC-NNPG acknowledged the persistence, perseverance and patience demonstrated by the United Naga Council (UNC) in the midst of extraordinary circumstances.

"May we all be reminded that acceptance and forgiveness is the only path to co-existence. The WC-NNPG shall always seek to strive for multi-ethnic co-existence rather than unipolar narrative.
"However, we shall not tolerate any form of threat to the Nagas in any form or shape. Collectively the Nagas must confront the common adversaries," the committee asserted.
The WC-NNPG also stated that it was high time for Nagas everywhere to rise above narrow misunderstandings, unite and reason together rather than attempting to impose factional legitimacy.
"Whereas it must also be informed that NNPG shall not tolerate any actions, policies or intentions from any section designed to harm the welfare of the Naga people," it added.
