significant achievement for Nagaland and the entire Northeast region,
Watinungsang, the joint secretary of the Dimapur District Cricket Association
(DDCA), has been appointed as the assistant coach for the South Africa Legends
team in the prestigious International Masters League, set to take place from
February 22 to March 16.
- In a press release, the DDCA informed that the tournament
will be held in Navi Mumbai, Vadodara, and Raipur, featuring iconic retired
cricketers such as Sachin Tendulkar, Brian Lara, Jonty Rhodes, Makhaya Ntini,
Jacques Kallis, and many others.
- “Watinungsang, an ICC-certified coach, is making history as
the first person from Northeast India to be appointed as an international
coach.
- “This milestone is a proud moment for the region and the
broader cricketing community. He is set to leave on February 20, and the
Dimapur District Cricket Association extends their heartfelt best wishes for
his success in this exciting new chapter,” the release stated.
