DIMAPUR — C/173 Bn CRPF held a civic action programme on December 2 at its coy headquarters at DEF camp, Chuchuyimpang, Mokokchung, with Ashok Kumar Yadav, Commandant, 173 Bn CRPF, as the chief guest.

According to a press release, during the programme, water storage tanks, solar lamps, and sports equipment were distributed to various schools, including Middle School Khensa, DEF School Chuchuyimpang, and Mountain Mover Club Khensa, as well as residents of Khensa and Chuchuyimpang villages near the deployment of C/173 Bn in Mokokchung.

Speaking on the occasion, Yadav shared that the CRPF organises civic action programmes annually. This initiative involves providing essential items to those in need, including schools, youth clubs, and other institutions, contributing to their daily lives, he said, highlighting that the programmes play crucial roles in fostering bridges between the security forces and the local populace.

The District Organising Commissioner (Guides), Tovili Wati, attended the event as the guest of honour, and in her speech, she praised the CRPF for its role in maintaining national security and organising such a people-friendly initiative.

Villagers, youth clubs, students, and residents nearby the DEF camp, Mokokchung, also spoke on the occasion.
