Dimapur, May 25 (EMN): Ward Education Committees (WECs) of Mokokchung town has expressed dismay over the Sub-Division Education Officer (SDEO) office Mokokchung for directing head teachers of government schools to nominate the names for cook-cum-helper for the mid-day meal, without their knowledge.
In a press release jointly appended by Sessional Convener, A. Bendang Jamir and Sessional Secretary, Imlikumzuk on behalf of WECs Mokokchung town, stated that the SDEO office Mokokchung have directed the head teachers of Government Middle/Primary Schools to nominate and submit the names of cook-cum-helper for the mid-day meal along with their details like; Aadhaar number, Bank Account number, Bank IFS code etc, without the knowledge of the WECs.In this regard WECs held a meeting on May 25 and deliberated the matter at length and decided that WECs will not take any responsibilities concerning such unprecedented functioning of the SDEO office Mokokchung. The house also resolved to take necessary steps to pursue the issue.
