Dimapur, Dec. 8 (EMN): In a closely contested final of the Medziphema town inter-ward volleyball tournament, Ward-9A emerged as the champions of the tournament beating rivals Ward-8 by a whisker which was held at the Thehouba ground, Ward-5, Medziphema town on Dec. 8.
Earlier, the closing ceremony was attended by Akhoto Kuotsu, president, Medziphema Town Mechü Krotho (MTMK) who was all praise for the participating teams for showing their concern towards cooperation and unity. He encouraged the youths to be dedicated in their endeavours which is the stepping stone for success.
The champions Ward-9A romped home richer with a cash prize of INR 20000 along with certificates and trophy. The runners-up Ward-8 walked off with INR 10,000 along with certificates. The best disciplined team was won by Ward-1B which included certificates with INR 2000 while Nilasato Terhüja of Ward-8 was adjudged the best player of the tournament.
