Wages directly credited through DBT

Kohima, Sep. 22 (EMN): Minister for Rural Development, Metsubo Jamir, stated that Nagaland is also now in National Electronic Fund Management System (Ne-FMS) under MGNREGA, whereby wages are directly credited to beneficiaries accounts through direct benefit transfer (DBT).

The minister said fund allocations are no longer made to districts/blocks by the state government. "As for material component, funds are released by the Ministry of Rural Development basing on the liabilities generated in the MIS," Jamir said.

The minister was replying to an unstarred question from legislator Chotisuh Sazo.

He also commented that the question on any diversion of fund under MGNREGS during 2022-23 "does not arise."
