Vivekananda Foundation observes youth day

Dimapur, Jan. 13 (EMN): Commemorating the 156th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, Vivekananda Welfare Foundation (VWF) observed the National Youth Day on January 12 at Missionaries of Charity, Mother Teresa Home, Dimapur.

The celebration was graced by Prof. KP Avikasit as the guest speaker besides many other eminent personalities.

Terming the youth as a force for progress of a nation, Prof. Avikasit called upon the youth of India raise their voice against those trying to muzzle and dictate the expressions of others. He also narrated a brief history on the life of Vivekananda.

Highlighting on its activities, the organisation’s legal advisor, YP Gupta, stated that it has been conducting charitable works in and around Dimapur since its inception. He added that the future generations would remember the organisation for bringing positive changes in the city.

Chief patron Dr. Dalia Bhattacharjee, Sister Bede of MTH, and youth coordinator Pankaj Debnath also spoke on the occasion. The celebration also coincided with the 4th foundation day of VWF.
