Kohima, Aug. 19 (EMN): Vision Trinity Club (VTC) organised an event 'Reach Out' by contributing 200 books and 500 masks to five villages in the Southern Angami region under Kohima district on August 17.

An update stated from the club stated that the team led by its president Nunese Sale, who is also the speaker of Southern Angami Students’ Union (SASU), under the 'Reach Out' initiative reached out to five villages in Southern Angami region namely Pfuchama, Khuzama, Kigwema, Phesama, and Sakhabama.

According to the club, the ‘Reach Out’ programme was initiated to alleviate the inconveniences faced by students especially in villages in acquiring resources and study materials at this time of the pandemic. It added that two hundred books comprising varied selected categories from fiction, general knowledge and reference books were contributed to further encourage and enhance the students' cognitive and academic abilities.

The club further stated that the main purpose of the event was to promote the culture of reading among the students.
