Vishü Rita Krocha has been elected as the new president of the Kohima Press Club for the 2026-2029 tenure. The new executive council was declared unopposed.

DIMAPUR — The Kohima Press Club (KPC) Election Commission declared the new executive council of the club for the tenure 2026-2029 at the KPC office in Kohima on Saturday.
According to an update, the new team will be led by Vishü Rita Krocha (Morung Express) as president, Vincent Belho (Doordarshan Kendra Kohima) as vice president, Seyiekietuo Keretsü (Nagaland Post) as general secretary, Nzanbemo Khuvung (freelancer) as joint secretary, and Reyivolu Rhakho (Eastern Mirror) as treasurer.
During the official declaration programme, Election Commissioner Chizokho Vero informed that the Election Commission received five nominations through Google Forms for the various posts to KPC.

He stated that after the conduct of scrutiny of the nomination papers, the Election Commission found all the documents valid. "Since there was no opponent against each post, all five candidates were elected unopposed," he added. Besides Vero, the Election Commission comprised Atou Liezietsu and Wapangsungla Longkumer as members.
In her speech, Krocha thanked the club for placing their trust and confidence in her while acknowledging the outgoing president, Alice Yhoshü, for the present success of Kohima Press Club.
Having served the press club for 12 years, the first half as the general secretary and the second as the president, outgoing president Alice Yhoshü said, "throughout my successive tenures here, each member has contributed to my journey in ways more significant than you might realise.
Together, we celebrated victories, learned from setbacks, and, most importantly, grew as a fraternity."
"While we may not have achieved everything we set out to do, because no journey is without its challenges, I hope you know that we gave our very best and we served with utmost sincerity, commitment, and love for KPC," she further expressed.
She also assured the new team of their support and assistance as they take on their new responsibilities.
