Violence continues at Chuchuyimlang

Our Correspondent Mokokchung, Feb. 8 (EMN): Tension continued to escalate in Chuchuyimlang village on Thur. The village is in 22nd Arkakong assembly constituency in Mokokchung district. On Thu. at around 2 pm a vehicle belonging to a supporter of Mayang Lima, NDPP candidate, was reportedly stopped and destroyed by unknown persons in the village. The extra additional commissioner of Chuchuyimlang informed that a vehicle coming from Changtongya was stopped by a mob in the village. Later the vehicle was said to have been vandalised. Police and security forces have been deployed and an investigation is currently underway, the official said. He added that they were three occupants in the vehicle. However, there was no report of the mob physically assaulting them, it was informed.
