Nineteen years old Vilokali Zhimomi from Zunheboto district has clinched the coveted Miss Nagaland 2016 title at the glittering Miss Nagaland 2016 ‘Grace and beauty- the beauty in you’ beauty pageant held as part of the ongoing Hornbill Festival.
Chuichang, 19 years old was adjudged as the first runner-up while Shenili Chishi, 19 years was crowned as second runner-up.
The event organized by the Beauty and Aesthetic Society of Nagaland (BASN) was held this evening at Regional Centre of Excellence for Music and Performing Arts (RCEMPA), Jotsoma.
Vilokali Zhimomi, Miss Nagaland 2016 also won the two sub-titles of Miss Perfect 10 and Miss Photogenic while Meweü Mero won the ‘Shining Star’ title.
The first runner-up Chuichang also won the sub-title of Miss Talent while the Miss Congeniality (Queen of Hearts) title was awarded to Ngapkhao Konyak.
The jury members included Uniel Kichu, IPS; Dr Zuchamo Yanthan; Rajesh Soundar Rajan, IAS; Ketholenuo Kense; Supongnukshi Aier, IFS and Kahoto Yepthomi with Rev Dr Ellen Konyak, Miss Nagaland 1996 as the chief judge.
The evening was hosted by Tiarenla Jamir, Miss North East 2006 and co-hosted by Moasenla, Miss Tuensang 2003 1st runner up; Zhovire Avi Kechu, Miss Dimapur 2015; Rachel Imchen, Miss East India 1996 and Rev Dr Ellen Konyak, Miss Nagaland 1996.
The evening also saw performances by Virie & Zaza, Shalo Kent, Coloured Keys, Mengu Suokhrie, Tiarenla Jamir, Keneiseno, Kimatsung, Thang, Sholo Thonh, Tsapila Anar, Metet Jamir, Ayusangla, Wabangla and Moatoshi.
The contestants wore creations designed by Alemla Ozukum with Theka Sekhose as the choreographer.
The glitzy event was graced by chief minister, TR Zeliang as the chief guest and Imlibenla, winner of Miss Supertalent of the world 2016 as the guest of honour.
Miss Nagaland 2015, Nenghoilung Hangsing and Miss North East Jewel Queen 2016 and Miss Aueen East, Miss Queen of India 2016, Veineinem Singson were the special guests of the evening.
