Villages in Kiphire avail health facilities

Dimapur, Dec. 11 (EMN): Nagaland health project (NHP), under the aegis of Directorate of Health & Family Welfare, organised a two-day health camp in Kiphire district namely at Phelunger and Lihtsaoung villages on November 28 and Anatonger and Nutsu villages on November 29. According to district media officer (NHM), CMO office, the health camp was conducted by Nagaland health project (NHP), Kiphire, led by the district facilitator Zitilong Sangtam. It stated that ANC checkups, HIV/AIDS, sugar test and special eye treatment were carried out during the health camp. It added that IEC leaflets and pamphlets materials were also distributed to the communities. Out of the total enrolment of 198 patients, 26 patients were diagnosed with hyper tension, four patients were diagnosed with T2 diabetes mellitus and one patient diagnosed with both hyper tension and diabetes mellitus. At the health camps, Dr. Hedungkiebe advised the villagers to have coordination with the department even in the future days. He also encouraged promoting health education to one another and to avail healthcare facilities provided by the government. The team was headed by Dr. Hedungkiebe, senior ophthalmologist, and Dr. Dheni, district epidemologist.
