Dimapur, Oct. 24 (EMN): The called to dwell in unity and peace among villages for ushering in development and leave behind rich legacy to posterity was reinforced on the occasion of 32nd anniversary cum erection village foundation day of Jalukie Zangdi on October 24, which was held in the village local ground.
Personal secretary to the chief minister and chief guest of the foundation day programme, Masangum, appealed the satellite villages under Old Jalukie village in Peren district to harness unity as there is benefit to prosper together as good neighbours.
He mentioned that there are altogether 15 satellite established villages within the Old Jalukie village jurisdiction, some of which were yet to be recognised by the State government. He expressed happiness to note that most villages have now come to be fully equipped with basic amenities and infrastructures.
He has particularly mentioned that Jalukie Zangdi village holds crucial responsibilities as it is placed at the district gateway connecting Dimapur district. He has lauded the village for not only safeguarding the traditional boundary but also maintaining good relations with neighbouring villages.
He encouraged the Jalukie Zangdi village to continue shouldering the responsibilities entrusted upon them and harness unity and peace thereby set example of for other villages to emulate.
Earlier, Masangum unveiled the monolith marking the 32nd anniversary of the village, while the dedicatory prayer was pronounced by the eldest living person of the village Cusarü Chesu.
The village council chairman, Bedusai Thulu-o, briefly highlighted on the history of the village.
It may be mentioned here that Jalukie Zangdi village is a pre-dominantly Chakhesang village established within Old Jalukie village jurisdiction. The village was established on October 24 in 1985. The village was recognised by the State govt on October 1, 1991.
Presently, Jalukie Zangdi village has a total of 119 household with 311 male and 252 female populations.
