Dimapur, April 6 (EMN): The Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services department of Tseminyu sub-division conducted a vaccination camp and awareness programme on April 5 at Sendenyu, Thongsunyu and Lotsuphen villages.
According to a press release from the medical department on Friday, the farmers were sensitized about potential zoonotic disease that may be contracted from the animal sources. Scope of livestock farming in the state was also taught.
Village council members, GBs, church leaders, and farmers were said to have attended the training programme.
Altogether 215 animals were vaccinated against swine fever in pigs and rabies in dogs. Medicines like deworming , vitamins, and minerals were also distributed to the farmers.
