KOHIMA — Despite authorities officially calling off the search operation for Rendemo Odyuo, who was swept away by the Dzuvuru stream on June 27, villagers continue their effort to locate the missing person.
On Friday, residents of Tukuliqa and Pangti villages conducted searches within their respective jurisdictions. This follows an earlier five-day search operation that failed to locate the 25-year-old Kohima resident.
While authorities have requested residents and fishing communities along the Doyang River to report any findings, Tukuliqa villagers initiated a search on receiving reports of a foul smell near a section of the river. Despite their efforts, Odyuo remains unfound.
The village has urged communities downstream to remain vigilant.
Pangti villagers also conducted a separate, voluntary search of the Doyang Dam, but were unsuccessful.
