Dimapur, Aug. 21 (EMN): The Tuensang District Legal Service Authority (TDLSA) organised a workshop for DBs and GBs of Longkhim and Chare (Customary Court) on Aug. 16.
During the workshop, the principal district & session judge, Victo Sema, who is also the chairman of TDLSA, spoke on customary functionaries, powers and duties as per the Nagaland Village Council Act of 1978.
Panel Lawyer Soteth Anar, presented on composition and functioning of village development boards (VDB). He said the VDB shall also subject to the directives of the village council, formulate schemes, programmes of action for the development and progress of the village as a whole or group of individuals.
Retainer Lawyer Antimangyang, spoke on Women’s’ Right while Project Assistant Yimtsusangla spoke on Child Rights, Protection of Children from Sexual Offence Act 2012 (POSCO).
