Dimapur, April 28 (EMN): State Agricultural Management and Extension Training Institute (SAMETI), Medziphema, organised a three-day training programme on “Sensitisation/ refreshers course on revised ATMA guidelines 2018 Phase-II” for ATMA functionaries from April 24 – 26.
The training programme was aimed at educating the trainees on the revised support to state extension programmes for extension reforms (ATMA) scheme guidelines.
Resource persons of the training included Alem Jamir, AI SNO cell from the directorate of agriculture; Tiajungla Longchar, and Vikaho Chophi, deputy project directors of SAMETI. The training programme covered topics on organisational structure, specialist and functionaries support, joint visits and incentives, components and mode of recruitment, remunerations, cafeteria of activities, networking and budget, cost norms and eligibility, cost norms and eligibility for support, revised unit cost/ summary, farm school-concept and cost norms, group formation, budget and district documents for release; pointers to DAP/ BAP preparation.
A field trip to poultry farm school under Medziphema block was also undertaken, wherein the participants interacted with the farm school teacher, Anebou Kuotsu, on the operation and record maintenance of the farm school.
The valedictory function was chaired by Vikaho Chophi, DPD SAMETI. Addressing the valedictory programme, Marcus Kasho, Head Assistant of IETC, Medziphema, urged the participants to give outmost importance for the betterment of the farmers and educate them on new farming technology. He also encouraged the trainees to take advantage of the available resources to strengthen the skills and knowledge of the farmers to make them progressive.
The training programme concluded with distribution of certificates by Marcus Kasho, head assistant of IETC, Medziphema. The vote of thanks was pronounced by Sentinaro Longchar, DPD SAMETI.
