Dimapur, July 21 (EMN): Village functionaries especially the Dobashis, Goan Buras (GBs), and village councils were sensitised on basic procedures of law provided under rules of justice.
The village functionaries were sensitised on the issue during a workshop conducted by the Mokokchung District Legal Services Authority (MDLSA), in collaboration with Mokokchung District Bar Association (MDBA), on July 20 at the ADC conference hall, Mokokchung.
Topics on Lok Adalat and its mechanism, money lenders act and jurisdictional authority and basic procedures of law (Cr.Pc/ C.Pc procedure provided under rules of justice and police) were discussed in detail by advocates I Imkong Jamir, LB Namo and Watitemjen.
The programme was followed with a fruitful discussion. Advocate I Mangko Jamir, president MDBA, was the moderator of the session.
The beneficiaries actively participated during the discussion by putting forward their grievances and cleared their doubts in their working system.
Booklet on Lok Adalat, legal aid and legal services, consumer act etc were distributed to the beneficiaries. Altogether, 78 members participated in the workshop.
