Dimapur, Dec. 27 (EMN): Choklangan village under Noklak district has observed 50th anniversary of Village Guards (VGs) on December 20 with the advisor of prisons, printing, and stationary, H Haiying, as chief guest.
A DIPR report stated that the advisor unveiled the monolith of the event and also exhorted the village guards on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, Haiying informed that the state government had enhanced the salary of village guards from INR 1500 to 3000 from April 2018. He also stated that modernisation of village guards had been approved by the government for which structuring of the organisation will soon start.
The advisor stated that re-tendering would be done for better widening of road from Nokhu to Choklangan village. He further expressed gratitude to all ranks of village guards for rendering good services to the people.
