DIMAPUR — Veritas defeated Esa Boys by 68 runs to win the fourth edition of the Late I Pihoto Awomi Memorial Trophy in Chümoukedima.
The tournament was organised under the aegis of the Dimapur District Cricket Association (DDCA) and the Nagaland Cricket Association (NCA), according to a press release.
In the final match, Veritas posted 175 for 5 in their allotted 20 overs. In reply, Esa Boys were bowled out for 107 in 15.3 overs.
Honorary General Secretary of the NCA Menguvilie Sakhrie attended the closing ceremony as the special guest and encouraged the players, stating that his office is always open for suggestions for the benefit of players and the sport.
The DDCA acknowledged the support and guidance of the NCA office bearers and officials, DDCA officials, participating teams, supporters, and well-wishers. The organisers also appreciated the umpires, scorers, and groundsmen for ensuring the smooth conduct of the tournament.
