Vekutho Soho, son of Hukhoneyi Soho won the Phek Wrestling Association (PWA) 42nd meet on January 9 held at Phek village local ground and walked away with a cash prize of Rs 25,000 along with citation. Mention may be made that Vekutho is the champion of the Light Weight category of the Wrestle Mania, 3rd edition 2014.
Kuluveto Venuh, Putuzo and Veta Soho stood in the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th position and pocketed a sum of Rs 15,000, Rs 10,000 and Rs 7,000 respectively along with citations.
Meanwhile, the 4 winners along with the following persons namely Zhoveku, Anuku Venuh, Seshü Venuh and Surhonieyi Soho – a two times Naga Open Wrestling champion and Naga Hornbill Wrestling Champion- would represent PWA in the forthcoming 24th Phek Area Wrestling Association (PWAW) meet in Phek town on January 19.
In Team ‘B,’ Mutuhu Venuh was crowned as the champion and walked richer with a cash prize of Rs 10,000. Shelutso Soho, Kuluveyi Soho and Savoto Rhakho emerged as 2nd, 3rd and 4th winners and awarded cash of Rs 7,000, Rs 5,000 and Rs 3,000 respectively.
Earlier, the championship was graced by Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu, MLA, as the chief guest and Er. Abija Khing, EE, PWD (R&B), as the guest of honour.
