Dimapur, Nov. 14 (EMN): Government Higher Secondary School, Phek, celebrated Children’s Day on November 14 with Bhavani Sri, SDO (Civil) Phek Sadar, as the guest speaker.
Bhavani spoke on the importance of teacher’s role in influencing the students to bring about positive change in their lives. She also spoke about maintaining good and healthy habits and dwell on the importance of mathematics and science as every competitive exams and aptitude test are based on those subjects.
The programme was chaired by the school’s principal and a group song was presented by the staff.

GPS Shamator-B: Government Primary School- B Shamator celebrated Children’s Day-cum-annual picnic in the school premises. The programme was chaired by Tsuyihba, assistant teacher, while the invocation was said by Rev. Z Thsankiu, pastor of Town Baptist Church Shamator.
A DIPR report stated that significance of the Children’s Day was delivered by Shochimla, assistant teacher, and song of praise was presented by the staff.
CEC School: Community Education Centre School, Dimapur, a project of Community Educational Centre Society (CECS) supported by The Hans Foundation celebrated Children’s Day-cum-annual day at Grace colony, Kuda-C, Nagarjan, on November 14 with the deputy commissioner, Dimapur, Anoop Khinchi as the special guest.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC emphasised on the importance of quality education and praised the work done by the CECS for providing education to students from under privileged background. Emphasising on the importance of extracurricular activities, he urged the school to provide platform to every child to express their unique talent.
The special guest also handed over clothing materials to the teachers of CEC School received from Sone Ki Chidiya Foundation, Mumbai, for the children.
Director of CECS Subonenba Longkumer expressed gratitude to all the parents for sending their children to CEC School and for their dedicated effort in moulding their children towards excellent academic performances. He further requested the parents to positively participate and support their children and the school in such programmes even in the coming days.
Ram Janaki Higher Secondary School celebrated Children’s Day on November 14 in the school premises.
On the occasion, the school’s principal spoke on the glory of Nehru’s philosophy and the special affection he had towards the children. The vice principal thanked everyone for promoting the healthy environment to brighten the educative purpose of the institution.
VB Infants Digital Home: VB Infants’ Digital Home at Kevijau Colony celebrated the Children’s Day with funfair. A report from the school stated that children attracted parents and well-wishers with their traditional costumes and other cultural performances.
Administrator of school Sentilila announced that the school has been upgraded to Class II. Students enrolment has started for Nursery, LKG, A, B, Classes I and II. The school planned to gradually upgrade up to Class XII.
MGM Higher Secondary School celebrated the Children’s Day with variety of programmes, a press release issued media cell of the school stated on Thursday.
Speaking on the occasion, the school’s principal Dr. Rev. Fr. PS Varghese highlighted on the life and contributions of Jawaharlal Nehru to humanity. Stating that every student is precious for parents and teachers, he advised them to take keen interest in studies to prove themselves for the development of the humanity.
The school’s headmaster, B Paul highlighted on Nehru’s love for children and his contributions. Teachers took active participation in several programmes to entertained the students.

Cambridge School, Lingrijan, celebrated the Children’s Day at the indoor hall of the school. The school’s headmistress Alila I Chang chaired the programme, while the invocation was said Atsola.
Shanjothung, Social Science teacher, delivered speech on behalf of the teachers, while certificates were given away by the sports secretary.
Various dances and songs were presented by the teachers. Prayers for students was pronounced by Kivi followed with a vote of thanks and benediction said by Mongsangla.
