
Dimapur, Jan. 15 (EMN): Office of the chief medical officer (CMO), Phek, conducted a training for Covid-19 vaccinator on January 13 in its conference hall, Phek.
The main aim of the programme was to impart hands-on training to the healthcare workers on the implementation of Covid-19 vaccination to be launched on January 16.
Dr. Kolhitso Khalo, district immunisation officer, highlighted the activities to be carried out during the drive, while Dr. Collins, WHO consultant and main resource person, made a power point presentation on different activities to be carried out during the vaccination drive.
An update from the CMO, Phek, stated that videos on logistics management, setting and conducting of session sites, administering of vaccine etc. were also shown to the participants besides conducting a practical session on the use of CO-Win application which was demonstrated by Zuvutho, vaccine and cold chain manager, Phek.
A session on communication and mobilisation approaches was also presented by the district media officer. Altogether, 43 participants attended the training.
In a similar programme, Wokha division of the Health and Family Welfare department conducted a Covid-19 vaccination training for Home Guards and staff of Social Welfare department in the office of the chief medical officer, Wokha, on January 15.
The resource persons were Dr. Khelito Zhimomi, DIO (RCH/UIP), and Chundemo, VCCM, wherein the participants were trained on their role as vaccinators at session sites and how to manage the beneficiaries.
It stated that Chundemo took a session on how to use the Co-Win App and also informed the participants on the process involved during registration. The participants were also handed out IEC materials on Covid-19 vaccine and informed that all frontline workers will be vaccinated in the next phase.
Earlier on January 14, a training for vaccinators from all health units was conducted at the CMO’s conference hall. The training was conducted by Dr. Sheila Longkumer, WHO consultant; Imli, UNDP project officer; and Chundemo, VCCM.
