The United Zeliangrongpui Co-ordination Committee (UZCC) staged a mass sit-in protest in Imphal demanding justice for six Naga hostages

DIMAPUR — The United Zeliangrongpui Co-ordination Committee (UZCC) on Saturday organised a mass sit-in protest at Rani Gaidinliu Park, Mantripukhri, in Imphal East, demanding justice for six Naga hostages who were allegedly killed after being abducted in Manipur.
Hundreds of protesters, most of them women from the Zeliangrong community, gathered at the venue and called for swift action against those responsible for the deaths of the six men, who were reportedly taken hostage from Leilon Vaiphei village in Kangpokpi district on May 13.
According to the UZCC, the protest was held against what it described as the "brutal killing" of the six hostages. The committee alleged the involvement of the Kuki National Front (P) in the incident.
The UZCC demanded the immediate arrest and prosecution of all those responsible, the abrogation of the Suspension of Operations (SoO) agreement with all Kuki militant groups, the declaration of KNF(P) as a terrorist organisation, the removal of Deputy Chief Minister Nemcha Kipgen from office, and justice for the six victims.
Protesters displayed placards bearing slogans such as "Arrest KNF(P) Chief Lalboy", "Punish the Guilty", "Justice Now", "Hear Our Call: Justice for Six", "No Delay, Justice Today", "Abrogate SoO with Kuki Militants", and "Stop Killing Innocent Naga Civilians".
The UZCC urged the authorities to conduct a thorough investigation and take prompt action against those found responsible for the killings.
