The Unemployed Trained Nurse Association Nagaland, Kohima unit expressed displeasure to the government over recent re-amendment of nursing rule, which stated that 50 percent of service entry will be from competition through NPSC and 50 percent by direct appointment through batch wise merit list. The Association felt that the re-amendment was totally against the interest of the Unemployed Trained Nurse Association Nagaland as most of them had already become overage which made them unfit for competitive exam.
The UTNA Kohima unit pointed out that there was not even a single post created and instead the department gave more and more nursing trainings which only increased the number of unemployed nurses. The Association asked the government to stop recruiting individuals/ persons into the nursing profession until and unless the demand of the UTNA Nagaland is fulfilled .
The Association also warned the government that whatever decision or action taken up by UTNA Nagaland, the government will be solely responsible.
The UTNA Kohima in a statement issued by unit president Metseikhono and general secretary Mhiesino assured the UTNA Nagaland of its strong support to revoke the re-amendment of nursing services rules 2014 and for post creation, promotions and upgradation of nursing post in the district hospital/CHC/PHC and other health unit.
