USTM launches Mega Summer Internship Programme 2026 for Northeast UG and PG students, offering research, training, mentorship, and exposure

DIMAPUR — The University of Science and Technology Meghalaya (USTM) on Wednesday launched the USTM Mega Summer Internship Programme 2026 (UMSIP-2026) for undergraduate and postgraduate students across Northeast India.
The programme was launched at the central auditorium of the university and is aimed at enhancing academic exposure, practical learning and research orientation among students of the region.
Organised by USTM with support from the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), the initiative seeks to provide students with hands-on experience, industry exposure and interdisciplinary learning opportunities under the guidance of faculty members and domain experts.

The internship programme has been designed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world applications by involving students in research projects, laboratory training, innovation-driven activities and skill development sessions.
The university stated that participants would gain exposure to advanced laboratories, research facilities, mentorship opportunities and collaborative academic environments available at USTM.
It also highlighted that the initiative aligns with the university’s vision of nurturing future-ready professionals and researchers from the Northeast region. The programme is expected to attract students from diverse disciplines, including science, technology, engineering, management, humanities and allied fields.
The last date for submission of applications for the internship programme is June 10, 2026. Interested undergraduate and postgraduate students from colleges and universities across the Northeast, including fresh UG entrants, have been asked to apply online within the stipulated timeline.
