The 68th session of the United Sangtam Students’ Conference (USSC) was held in Alisopur village from January 20 to 22 on the theme ‘Reinventing ingenuity leadership,’ with Rev. C Lima, executive secretary USBLA, Yangli, as speaker.
Session was attended by many bureaucrats, thousand of students’ and intellectuals from different professions.
Thejao Vihienuo, State Mission Director of RMSA and chief guest of the inaugural programme, exhorted students to build dream for better society basing on solid foundation and not to be like a floating ship without direction.
The two-day session was marked by unfurling of USSC flag by the chief guest, C Kipili Sangtam, Minister of Power. He was accompanied by Imtilemba Sangtam, Advisor of Cooperation. Addressing the gathering, the chief guest stressed on food economy, quality leadership and role of students.
Er. Alongse, Principal of ITI, Mon, was the resource person of the workshop. He spoke on ‘entrepreneurship.’
Review of the 67th standing committee meeting minutes and adoption of new resolution was done during the general meeting on the third day.
The valedictory function was graced by Opangtula Sangtam, Deputy Development Commissioner of Planning and Coordination. He spoke on women responsibilities and equality in the society. She also enlightened the students in the realm of excellence.
