KOHIMA, AUGUST 28
UNRATED, a new magazine dedicated to music was launched here in Kohima on Thursday. The magazine, with its catchphrase ‘Music matters where passion belongs’, is an initiative of three young women- Caroline Stm, Georgina Pienyu and Chen Imchen- who aspire to offer a platform for local artistes and tell the stories of their music in the printed form.
YouthNet strategist, Lezo Putsure who graced the launching of Unrated at a brief function held at The Hut, CK Arcade, Kohima and released the first issue, observes that Nagas are inherently passionate about music. He feels that the younger generation is full of creative energy and expressed hope that the newly launched magazine will not only inspire the youth and artistes but also encourage a reading culture amongst the people.
The 35-paged first issue of Unrated features renowned Dimapur based alternative metal band UDX, upcoming solo artiste Shalo Kent, Steroptype and Syphillectomy of Kohima, DJ Ina, rapper BK and event managing team Moshfall Headbangers United (Kohima) among others besides few bands from neighbouring states.
Meanwhile, the Unrated team has acknowledged the support of the State Chief Minister TR Zeliang, parliamentary secretary Youth Resources & Sports Khriehu Liezietsu, Forest Minister Dr. Neikesalie Nicky Kire, YRS Director Kelei Zeliang and all those who contributed towards the launch of the magazine.
It was informed that Unrated would be published once in every two months.
