IMPHAL, March 14
While clarifying that the outfit has no hand in the February 11 Khwairamband blast, the United National Liberation Front (UNLF) today pointed “Indian Occupational Force (IOF)” hands behind the blast citing some reasons.
A statement of the outfit signed by its director-in-charge of department of publicity M Sak-hen clarified that UNLF and its armed wing MPA has nothing to do with the blast near the crowded temporary market-shed in the evening of February 11 that killed three people and injured more than 20 others.UNLF condemned the blast such blast apparently targeted innocent people.
Any of the revolutionary groups struggling for return of Manipur’s sovereignty has never been done such act of targeting innocent people.
And usually if happened to inflict injuries to the innocent people while attacking to the IOF, they (revolutionary groups) readily admitted and apologized.
However, a series of blast in crowded areas of Imphal city in the recent time has been witnessing. This will be part of IOF’s “secret state terrorism”.
It was not a new thing and known by one and all when bombs were planted at such a high security zone of the Imphal city.
One of the possible reasons for the act was to blame the revolutionary groups operating in the state when India was under pressure when the demand for repeal of the Armed Forces Special Power Act, 1958 was taken up as special agenda for discussion with reference to Irom Sharmila’s more than 14 year old fasting struggle and people mass protest.
IOF and its master India government want the world treat the liberation struggle of the revolutionary groups of the state as terrorists, the statement went on to assert.
Even deputy chief minister who also holds home portfolio has said that involvement of security personnel in the series of blast cannot be ruled, the statement said, reminding a recent statement of the deputy chief minister Gaikhangam to the media, a day after the February 11 blast incident.
Another reason of IOF engaging in such state terrorism act will be to send a wrong message of the people’s movement for implementation of Inner Line Permit System in the state for saving the indigenous people from domination by the people from the mainland India.
This can be assumed when the blasts were appeared to be targeting non-locals, the statement went on to state.
