Unity College organises seminar on child rights

[caption id="attachment_280324" align="aligncenter" width="565"] Resource persons and participants pose for a photograph during the two-day national seminar child rights and protection at Unity College.[/caption] Dimapur, Oct. 30 (EMN): Education department of Unity College, in collaboration with Childline 1098 Dimapur, organised a two-day national seminar on October 24 and the 25th on the theme “Child rights and protection: Acts, issues and challenges.” I Azungla Imsong, assistant professor from the department of Education of the college, highlighted on the aims, objectives, needs and significance of child rights and protection. The keynote speaker Subonenba Longkumer, Nodal director of Childline 1098 and governing board member Childline India Foundation, encouraged the young scholars and students to look through one’s own perspective and bring out one’s originality by writing books on the issue. Dr. Toli Achumi, assistant professor of Political Science from Yingli College, Longleng, was on the panel during the first technical session. On day-two of the seminar, the keynote speaker was K Ela, director of Prodigals’ Home and collab director of Childline Dimapur, highlighted on the issues of child rights, empowerment of children. She encouraged the audience to be the answered prayer for those children. The panel on day-two technical session was led by Meghali Senapati, assistant professor from School of Social Work Centre of Counselling, TISS, Guwahati. The valedictory programme was chaired by Dr. Temjenwabang, assistant professor from department of History and the concluding remarks on the seminar was delivered by Meghali Senapati where she appreciated the presenters for their valuable works on their respective topics. Certificates were given away to the resource persons and paper presenters.
